In Our Church

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord.”
Romans 12,10-11

The Church cannot function without as many members as possible being involved in assisting, supporting and caring for each other through serving in our Church duties and functions. Ministry within our own congregation offers many areas in which to use our spiritual gifts to serve the Lord. Anyone wishing to be involved in serving in any way in the Church, please contact the Minister at the office (013 753 3214 or 072 192 2880).

The Soul Singers participate in the 08:30 service. Together with the Preacher they lead the worship part of the service. There is always a need for anyone with any of these gifts. Please contact the Church office if you’d like to be part of this ministry.

My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have redeemed. Psalm 71:23 ESV

At each service, stewards are needed to assist with the smooth-running and hospitality of the service: Projector stewards work the computer to project the songs and overhead notices and liturgies. Sound stewards monitor the sound and speakers.

Welcoming stewards greet everyone at the door, issue the Church leaflets, take the offering and assist in locking upafter the service.Tea stewards serve tea after the service. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in for tea to meet and greet and get to know one another each Sunday.

Anyone wishing to serve the Church as a steward, please contact the Church office. You will receive the relevant training.

At each service, a steward will be available to welcome you at the Connect Corner in the Church.(a corner in the back of the Church) NEW MEMBERS in particular are invited to go along to this corner to learn more about the Church and to be welcomed. Anyone with requests or queries, needing any pastoral care or prayer, please speak to the steward present. All requests will be handled strictly confidentially.

Whenever there is a Communion service, the Communion Stewards will prepare the bread, pour the grape juice and set up the Communion table for the service.

Each week a team of two ladies come into the Church building to polish and dust the pews, organise and tidy the books and Bibles and make sure the Church is clean and fresh when we come to worship on Sunday. This is a humble duty, but what greater priviledge can we have than cleaning the house of the Lord?

Our church’s finances and property are under the care of the Finance and Property Committee. Financial statements are made available each month, a budget is presented to the Annual General Meeting and the accounts are audited annually. Any Budget requests or expenditure is approved through this committee. Please contact the Church Office for any matters arising in this regard.
